Workshop Overview
Coaching is a powerful way of supporting change in schools. It is an effective form of professional development because implementation of new learning is high when teachers become more reflective about their practice. Coaching leads to greater efficacy among teachers, and, as a result, more satisfaction with their work.
Many schools are moving away from the traditional role of a technology teacher, responsible for planning and delivering stand-alone lessons, and moving towards a model of technology integration coaching, where subject and grade level teachers are supported to become self-directed in the ways they use technology to transform student learning.

What will participants learn at this workshop?
Essential coaching skills that will be introduced and practiced are:
-
Ways of building trust and rapport with individuals and teams
-
The skills of paraphrasing and asking questions
-
The basic protocols of coaching conversations
